Formula Three (F3) is a type of open-wheel motor racing, in which drivers compete in single-seater cars. F3 is considered the second tier of open-wheel racing and is directly below Formula One (F1). F3 cars are powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine, with a capacity of 1.8 litres. The cars are relatively lightweight, weighing in at just over 500 kg. F3 races typically consist of two or three practice sessions, two qualifying sessions and two or three races.
